The City of Claremont, California offers an educational musical-theater extravaganza for children and their families as part of their Summer Concerts-in-the-Park series. For information on any of these summer-concert venues refer to the article “Outdoor Summer Concert Series in Claremont, CA” on my news page.
Claremont provides the “Children’s Concert Series” as part of their Summer Concerts-in-the-Park venue every Wednesday night throughout the month of July with performances starting at 7:00 p.m. Your kids will delight in the diversity of their very own musical-theater show genre presented weekly with live comedy, puppet shows, music concertos, and children’s theater loaded with audience-participation. There is music, singing and dancing with lots of fun-for-all making a spirited family-style evening.
Most families arrive early with a picnic-style dinner to enjoy as the kids enthusiastically participate in the numerous pre-concert activities at Memorial Park on Indian Hill Blvd. Before the children’s weekly concerts there are a variety of kid-friendly activities to experience. A unique musical-instrument petting-zoo encourages kids to play actual musical instruments under an instructor’s supervision.
Booths are set up by category displaying musical instruments, allowing children to play their favorite brass, string, percussion or woodwind instruments. Another week may turn the booths into pre-concert carnival games, or make-and-take craft-activities with snack-food concession stands available for ice cream and other summer-time treats.
All amphitheater entertainment and child-engaging activities are free, provided by the City of Claremont as part of their Summer Concerts-in-the-Park series for residents and their families. No dogs or alcohol are allowed in stress-free family-friendly Claremont city parks, so come early with your picnic-dinner, blanket and chairs for children’s musical theater around the open stage at Claremont, California’s Memorial Park on Indian Hill Blvd.
