July 3-6, 2008, a new festival takes center stage for the Fourth of July weekend. Promoters of the Rothbury Music Festival Revolution are excited to present what they call a “new American celebration” and a “Musical Revolution.”
Rothbury is a Fourth of July celebration with a environmentally sustainable purpose. The Rothbury Music Festival has arranged a rock and roll weekend aimed at gathering like-minded rock and roll fans who are willing to work with festival organizers to help offset the carbon footprint of the music festival.
Proceeds will be donated to a variety of organizations to offset carbon waste from the festival. The two primary projects which Rothbury Music Festival will participate in include tree planting and investment in windmill farms. Additional funds, a minimum of $50,000 will be donated to the Solar Schools program via a non-profit partner Black Rock Solar.
The venue, Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Michigan offers a retreat among beautiful forests, fields, and lakes. Onsite lodging, camping, and RV’s are encouraged. Promoters are also looking for Fourth of July festival fun seekers to be environmentally conscious, kind to each other, and work together to create a fun, clean Fourth of July weekend festival.
Food, beverages, and crafts will be available, including organic and vegetarian options. In keeping with the green theme of Rothbury’s Music Festival Revolution, all vendor materials are to be compostable. Vendors will use paper plates made from compostable sugar cane. Plastic and aluminum bottles are allowed on-site and recycling will be available throughout the venue.
